Around this time of year, we get a lot of questions about whether now is the right time to put your home on the market. With the holidays coming up in quick succession, is now a smart time to list a property? There are three things in the market that affect conditions at any given time: active inventory, new listings, and homes going under contract and selling.
Typically, inventory will decline this time of year, so many sellers assume it's just not a good time to be on the market. The reality is, there isn't that much of a drop off in buyers who are going under contract this time of year, relative to inventory. There's less competition on the market this time of year - specifically during the months of November, December, January, and even February - making now the ideal time to put your home on the market.
